Requests
One inbox of every open tenant request across all your units — raised from the move-in guide, triaged open → in progress → resolved, with the tenant notified on resolve.
What it is — the Requests screen (/app/requests) is one inbox for every open thing your tenants have asked for, across all your units. Requests are raised by tenants from their move-in guide; this is where you work them.
It’s a single global queue on purpose: as a landlord you want “what needs doing right now?” in one place, not one tab per unit. A home filter narrows it to a single property when you want that.
What lands here
Each request carries its kind and the tenant’s details:
- App access — the tenant wants adding to a smart-device app; the email addresses to grant are shown. You add them in the device’s own app (SmartThings, etc.), then resolve the request. The request history is your record of who has access to what.
- Utility / Connectivity / Maintenance — something isn’t working; the tenant’s note explains what.
- Payment setup — the tenant’s preferred way to pay rent (pre-authorized debit or credit card). Intent only — no bank or card details are collected.
- General — anything else the tenant typed.
Working a request
Each request moves through open → in progress → resolved (or declined), each with an optional note:
- Start marks it in progress, so you know it’s picked up.
- Resolve closes it out. Add a note (“added both emails to SmartThings”) and the tenant is emailed that it’s done — with your note — and their portal shows the new status.
- Decline does the same with a reason.
The tenant never has to chase you for an update: resolving or declining is what tells them.
Get alerted on WhatsApp
Turn on Notify me on WhatsApp in Settings (you need a linked WhatsApp number) and RenovAI messages you on WhatsApp the moment a tenant sends a request, a prospect inquires, or a tenant replies — so you don’t have to be in the app.
You can reply straight from WhatsApp. Reply to a specific alert (swipe-to-reply / quote it) and your message goes to exactly that tenant or prospect; a plain reply goes to the most recent alert. Either way it lands in the right thread and reaches them by email (and WhatsApp, if they opted in). It’s opt-in, and off until your landlord account enables it.
Ask your assistant
Requests are readable and updatable over MCP:
- “What tenant requests are open across my units?”
- “Resolve the SmartThings access request for the Taza unit — note that I added both emails.”
